As runners, we know there’s something special about our state of mind when we run, and the effect on our mood and our daily lives. In fact, I believe there are two mental states. I have only run in a couple of "race" events, but I really relate to what is being said here about mindless and mindful running. Although the stream of consciousness (mindless) running is a great distraction from what I am doing, for me the joy of running comes from being mindful of the physical environment both within and outside of myself. I love the point where it all feels quite effortless, a sensation of almost flying, and being an integral part of the natural environment around me...and when it is a grind I find a mantra of doing it for someone I love really helps to push through the pain of fatigue. Interestingly, reading about it makes it even more real and exciting as a practice to pursue more purposefully.

Hallo Martin! Nice picture! Thank you for publishing this article. I am happy, finding people who are interested in Mindfulness & Moving Action! It is such a different, being in your mind, thinking and planning and wondering, or if you are tapping into the mist of silence. Being able to focus on your sences and your surrounding. There is so much to experience on every new run, even if you are running the same round. There is a difference in temperature, different smell and vind conditions and color variations around you. In every moment there is air to breathe, enough energy for the next step and the next. Running as fast as you feel for, with soft steps, with so little effort as needed, until you return home. Maybe even faster and lighter as ever before. Mindful Running makes your running feel easy & fun, right? Keep on writing and running, yours Mareike www.easyrunningonline.com

Wanted to thank you Evelyn for another great yoga class. I loved the iwrnad approach to your teaching on Wednesday. Eyes closed, focusing on me, breathing through my tight spots, expanding deeper through focused breath. Eliminating everything around me as well as my own mental chatter. My achy back no longer hurts Can't wait to see what you have in store for us on Friday.
